Ladie´s Dance NRW Tour 2014 started!

The tour of Ladie´s Dance, a workshop concept for urban dance, started on sunday, 16.11.2014 in Dance LOFT Aachen! 

The concept of Ladie´s Dance is based on the idea of supporting women and giving possibilities to try out different urban dance styles. During the years, a lot of ladies came and worked hard in our workshops - got better and better - but the most importent: ENJOYED the dance! More dates are following!

ADAM´S R.I.P. - an all female dance theater piece at the 10th Pottporus Festival 2014!

For this year´s Pottporus Festival, me and my dance partner Bahar (Dirty Mamas/ nutrospektif) had the chance to work in a dance theater production of RENEGADE/Pottporus e.V. - a well known company for urban dance theater in Germany. With the choreographer Lenka Kniha-Bartunkova and three contemporary dancers (Sarah Bockers, Elisa Marshall und Phyllis Rhode), the topic of WOMEN was in the focus. The result was the piece "Adam´S R.I.P." - dealing with different pictures of women, the history of Adam & Eva, general women topics, successes and problems of today and before.

BOTY BGirl Battle 2014 - the videos are online!

BOTY 2014 is over and it was dope! Once again, Jilou and me had the chance to present Germany at the 2vs2 international BGirl Battle in Braunschweig. We made it to the semifinals where we battled the Team from Japan, Nagi & Shi-Chan, two crazy BGirls. They took it and won the whole BGirl Battle. Congratulations!

On the next day we had a great time at the main BOTY event, watched the shows and had a funny cypher battle against the Last Alive Crew from Italy. Again, BOTY was a great place to meet friends from all over the world like the Body Carnival Crew from Japan, Gravedad Crew from Mexico, Predators from Russia and many more...a great internationa exchange and big motivation to keep on dancing!

Breakdance-Workshop for girls in Solingen

In the last week i was teaching a 2-days Breaking workshop for girls between 10 and 14 years. It was an offer inside the cultural program "Kulturrucksack" in the city Solingen. We worked for two days and the girls were learning so fast! Motivated and fearless they learned a lot of different Toprocks, Floorworks and Freezes. There were even a journalist and photograph to document the two day. Here you can find the Article in the Solinger Tageblatt.

IBE 2014 - International Breakdance Event in Heerlen/ Netherlands

Also this year i went to the yearly event IBE, one of the biggest, most known and celebrated Breakdance events worldwide - but especially in Europe. I had a great time, met a lot of old and new friends from all over Europe and participated with my dancepartner Bgirl Jilou at the IBE 2on2 BGirl Battle - the result is a great picture made by Nika Kramer!

This summer i combined my holidays with my dancing: Heading to Morocco, Casablanca, i was judge at one of the biggest events of the moroccan Breakdance-Scene: BEST MOROCCAN BBOY 2014, a 1on1 Battle in the city Rabat together with famous BBoy Lil Zoo and BBoy Twem. It was a great experience - thanks to the orgnaiser Amine (Freestyle Maroc)! Due to Ramadan the battle started around 22:30h in the night and went on until 1:30h in the morning!

Also, i had the chance of a residence in the artist space ESPACE DARJA, located in the district Mer Sultan of Casablanca, where i started working on a duo with BBoy Yoriyas/ LHiba Kingzoo. 

All in all i had a great time!

A BIG SUCCESS! Street vs. Stage - an urban and contemporary dance experience on 26.06.2014

The urban dance collective nutrospektif and the MichaelDouglas Collective were organising the event "Street vs. Stage" inside the KATALYST Festival 2014 with a never seen and new concept in Orangerie/Cologne: 

Two teams of dancers, one of contemporary and one of urban dancers were dancing against and with each other in three rounds. In each round each dancer had to face a task. The urban team, existing of dancers from nutrospektif & friends danced against dancers of the MichaelDouglas Collective & friends. In the first round each dancers represented his self on a given music by the DJ. The second round asked them to dance a task, eg.: Your knee is guiding you/ your hand is stuck on the floor/ you are leaving the club at 5am and you meet a pink elefant. In the third round the dancers where asked to choose a partner from "the other side" and dance a freestyle duo.

Summer Cypher Cologne - Recap from 14.06.2014

This year again, i organised the event "Summer Cypher Cologne" as an outdoor Jam. The concept is an open cypher session for all dance styles and a 7-to Smoke Breaking Battle "ALL IN" which means that the dancers are also the judges. Again this concept worked very well and we had a lot of fun!

Judging at Air4Day in Erfurt was dope!

We had a lot of fun with the Kids Battles (1on1, 3on3) especially in the kategory 5-10years! So many cool and talented kids!

The 3on3 and 1on1 for the "Pro´s" were dope too, a lot of good dancers were fighting for the title.

Thanks a lot to the organisation for having me as judge and workshop teacher. 

And a big shout out to my judge-colleges BBoy Pedram from Iran and BBoy Lehmi from the Saxons Crew/ Germany!
