Cologne Circle 2015 - 10th Anniversary

This year on 14.11.2015 we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Breakdance-Event Cologne Circle. It was full of dancers and visitors from Cologne, NRW, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Scotland and Morocco. The event started on friday with workshops given by BGirl Bo/Netherlands and BBoy Cri6/Morocco. On saturday we had over 60 participating teams in the 2vs2 and 8 strong dancers in the Dirty Thirty 7to Smoke. The judges Bo, Cri6 and Kho/France did a great job!  BBoy Justy & BBoy Ozzy from the Netherlands won the 2vs2 and BBoy Slideshow Maule from Scotland the Dirty Thirty Battle. The Notorious IBE will give full weekend-tickets to the winners! The event was also sponsored by Bench, merijula and N.R.W. - straight outta Ehrenfeld. It was a great event, and we celebrated the multicultural togetherness. HipHop´s message is one love, unity and having fun!

2nd place at Before Authentik 2015 - international BGirl Battle

The last weekend i was invited to battle at Before Authentik in an international BGirl Battle. I reached the finals with my Partner BGirl Pesteana (Figure2Style) from France and we made 2nd Place. It was a great weekend!

Battle of the Year 2015 - representing again at the international BGirl Battle!

This year´s Battle of the Year, the so called world championships of Breaking, took part on 24. & 25.10.2015. For the third time in a row i had the chance to participate in the international BGirl Battle (open only for invited dancers) with B-Nice from Canada. It was fun, especially because it´s like a big family meeting for friends from all over the world!

Ladie´s Dance Tour NRW 2015/16 started!

On the last sunday, the Ladie´s Dance NRW Tour started again! The first stop was in Dortmund and again, we had great motivated Ladies eager to learn and to work with us! The next tourstop will be the 14.11.2015 in Siegen.

Queen Sweet 16 - international BGirl Battle

On the first weekend of September i was invited to participate in the international Line-Up of the Bgirl Battle "Queen Sweet 16" were i could win the first round against BGirl Tys/France and had a very close second battle against BGirl Bene/France. 

Also i was invited to present my research about BGirl History in a lecture. It was a great experience to present the research, which i am working on since 2013, for more than 30 interested dancers!

Ladie´s Dance Camp and August update

In August there was a lot going on! In the first week of August i was teaching Breaking to a lot of motivated girls in the Ladie´s Dance Camp in Cologne! On 22.08. we had the "Keep the Beat Alive" Battle in Cologne - some freestyle dancing on different music - supported by merijula. And on the 30.08. i went to the ReSoulution battle in tanzhaus nrw, a charity event for the Campz Breakers dance school in Gaza!

Street vs. Stage at KATALYST FESTIVAL 2015

The concept-battle event Street vs. Stage was a big success! We had a great and big audience watching and cheering for the dancers of two teams: 8 urban and 8 contemporary dancers dancing in 3 rounds against and with each other.
The event created a special atmosphere inside the Orangerie Theater in Cologne and brought the dancers more close together! Video-footage will be online soon!

Lecture about learning processes in Breaking!

The open lecture programm "MUSIC - DANCE - BODY" at the University for Music and Dance Cologne includes two lectures about Hip Hop: First, the different dances emerged inside the Hop Hop Culture. Second, the learning processes taking place in the original danceform of Hip Hop: Breaking.
I am happy to be invited for the lecture about Breaking, taking an active role by showing practical as also theoretical aspects - from a dancer´s point of view.
The lecture is given by Prof. Dr. Michael Rappe, pioneer about Hip Hop Studies in Germany and his college, Prof. Dr. Christine Stöger.

Judging at Mai-Jam in Kassel

On the first May i was invited for judging the May Jam in Kassel - a whole HipHop Jam with Rap, Grafitti, Breaking and for sure DJing. The 2on2 Breaking Battle was supportet by merijula and 14 teams came to battle on a hard floor, which made dancing not soo easy. BBoy Trip showed control even on the difficult floor and won the 2on2!

Trip to Asia - Singapore & Vietnam

After spending days in the fascinating and irritating city Singapore and a great time at the Radikal Forze Jam 2015, i went to Vietnam and had the chance to visit lots of different places like SaiGon (Ho Chi Minh City), the island Phu Quoc, the Mekong Delta and Mui Ne. For sure we checked out the practise spots in SaiGon and had a good practise in 30° hot weather! It was a great holiday trip!

Trip to Morocco

Chefchouen, the blue city

In my last travel to Morocco i visited the cities Casablanca, Chefchouen and Tanger. In Casablanca i could watch the rehearsals for a new project of the association LHiba Kingzoo about a fusion of the traditional Gnawa-Music and Breaking. They presented the firts part of the piece in an urban art event in the Villa des Arts in Casablanca.

Also, i had the chance to visit the beautiful city of Chefchouen and the nature of Akshur, just near of the city. It was a great trip - i can only reccomend to visit both places!

In the end i had a short visit to Tanger, a very modern and vivit city with a great beach and skyline!

Ladie´s Dance Dortmund

The second tourstop of Ladie´s Dance NRW was Dortmund - on 15.02.2015. We could welcome about 50 motivated Ladies and had a great day! Next stop ist Münster on 22.03.2015.

Ladie´s Dance in Cologne

On sunday, 25.01.2015 the second tourstop of Ladie´s Dance NRW was taking place in Cologne! 130 motivated Ladies came to participate in 6 different workshops of urban dance as HipHop, House, Breaking, Popping, Vougueing and Ragga Dancehall. It was a long, exhausting but GREAT day for all participants, teachers and organisators!
