Winner of the Bonny&Clyde Battle at SWAMP Open Air 2016!
Yeah! We made first place at the Bonnie&Clyde battle at SWAMP Open Air 2016 in Potsdam (02.07.2016)!
Bonnie&Clyde is a battle system were a girl & a boy dance together in a team in a KO-System. There were 16 Teams participating with good level!
Me and my teammate TJ from Hamburg, named us the "Dirty Thirties" and made it to the finals despite all young guns and won against the team M&Ms (Mickey/Germany & Mika/Brazil). A big thanks to the organisators and the Battle of the Year, which is sponsoring two BOTY-Tickets for us (-:

Recap: International Hip Hop Studies Conference in Cambridge
From 23.-25.06.2016, Richard Bramwell and James Butterworth organised an international conference on Hip Hop Studies in Cambridge University, UK. It was a great event. Scholars from all over the world came to meet, discuss and present on various topics such as Gender, Politics, Education, Agency, Race and more in the field of HipHopStudies. Highlights were definitely the keynotes from Murray Forman and Tricia Brown, two important co-founders of the research field. My highlight were the two discussion panels on the last day about HipHopEducation and Research on HipHop.
Next to many interesting lectures there was a Breaking performance by SIN CRU from Cambridge and a MC cypher.
Also, i met some more scientists from Germany, also working in the HipHop field, like Sina Nietsche from Dortmund. That´s great!
All in all it was great platform to exchange with so many interesting, smart and energetic people addicted to HipHop Culture!
More about the Conference here and by #grimeycambridge

Funkin Stylez World Team Battle 2016
Last weekend (29.05.2016), i had the opportunity to represent at the Snipes Funkin Stylez World Team Battle! Funkin Stylez is a world wide known, international battle bringing some of the best All Style Crews on a big stage. Invited Teams like Team Korea, Team Japan, Team France and Team Germany are batteling against qualified Teams - and i represented with my crew nutrospektif.
We danced against Team France (going to the Finals) and Team Ukraine. Unfortunately, we could not persuade the judges - but the audience! We got a lot of positive feedback, so we are happy we could present our style, crew, way of dance, family and girlz power! We had fun and we will come back for the next All Style Team Battle!

Show&Prove HipHop Studies Conference in Riverside/California
With a scholarship of my university, I had the chance to travel to the Show&Prove Conference 2016 to California/USA, a conference of the research field "HipHop Studies"! Because we don´t have this research field in Germany yet, it was great to see how many people attended the conference, are interested, researching and working in this topic in the US and Canada. I met many interesting people and enjoyed the time at the University of Riverside! It gives me a lot of motivation for my PhD on Breaking.
Next to lectures and panel discussions, there where workshops of Ken Swift and BGirl Macca. Organiser Imani Kai Johnson made a great Job! I was invited to give a feedback in the closing panel of the discussion. Thank you!
After the conference i stayed in Riverside and also visited LA, went to practise in the famous spot "Homeland" and had a good time with the dancers from the city - with special thanks to BBoy Reveal, Bert, Jazemin and BBoy J-Wolf!

Ladie´s Dance 10th Anniversary!
From 22.-24.01.2016 we were celebrating 10years of Ladie´s Dance! Started in 2006, the workshop format gives women an opportunity to try out different urban dance styles like Breaking, Popping, HipHop etc. as well as supporting interested ladies in getting contact to the urban dance scene. Intermidiate dancers are supported by the Ladie´s Dance Camp, a weekly summer dance camp where different urban dance styles are teached.
Ladie´s Dance is not only focusing for the dance style techniques but stresses the importance of the knowledge: the culture and history of the dances are teached, practise science - how to practise best for oneself - is also in focus. Everything is surrounded by a special pedagogic concept how to teach dance.
At the 10th anniversary a special frieday evening for all supporters was held with the premiere of the Summer Camp documentary filmed and edited by Yassine Alaoui Ismaili - Yoriyart/Morocco, on saturday workshops for male dancers were offered, new style hustle- and salsa workshops and a dancer´s party with DJ Lizzie Liebe & Habama Music with live percussion. And on the sunday the typical Ladie´s Dance day was hold with 120 participating ladies!
